The weather report said to expect a southerly storm to arrive at early afternoon thankfully we only had light to moderate winds and a couple of light showers to contend with.
Ralph and Glen were race officers and set a rectangular course with the finishing line an extension of the startl line.
Twenty skippers were arranged into six teams of three and one team of two each team was given a colour name and appropriate coloured flags which were attached to the mast heads.

RED TEAM         Polly, Ron Campbell and Tony Taylor.
YELLOW TEAM  Ron Bedyn. Rodney Ford and Murray Dean.
BLUE TEAM        Al Ross, Mark Cornell and Chris Stricker.
GREEN TEAM     Bryan Treleaven, Anzan, and Bob Auton.
PURPLE TEAM   Nick Richardson, Chris Greer and Clif Bishop.
ORANGE TEAM Peter Bradley, Roy Bickerstaffe and Mike Inns
WHITE TEAM      Dayele Hobson and Ross Mills.

Placings in the seven heats sailed were.
