The “Witchcraft” design yachts is a Marblehead variant. They are named after a yacht built in 1903. The Witchcraft Model Yacht was designed in 1951 and had instant success, and through Gavin Britt, this design was taken up at CMYC. Gavin built a mould and many hulls were taken off this. Control was by vane, spinnaker for running, and round robin racing in pairs. Because of the long keel, weed on the lake can be a problem.
