Rodney Ford and Graeme Raxworthy (Rax) were your race Officers. As there had been bad weather forecast, with heavy rains and strong winds lashing the country, we had a chat about whether to cancel or not. However, the day steadily improved so that at race-time there was a light southerly breeze – enough to make pleasant sailing. Although cold. Not much wind at times!

We set a rectangular course, 2 laps. And, with the Mark Foy start, this gave time for those (Polly,cJ-333, and Ron Bedyn vJ-007) on 120-second delayed start to move up the flotilla. Tony Taylor, on scratch, won the day, with Polly coming second. Allen Anderson third. Congratulations.

Good behaviour, but often we saw that skippers who did not give enough buoy-room, causing some pile-ups and tangles. A number of “hit-the-mark” episodes were not accompanied by the requisite penalty.

Another great day on the lake. Rodney & Rax
