Greetings,
What a day yesterday was…..28 boats in mass starts…..so one can imagine the many difficulties arising from that lot. However I must say, if boats would obey the RRS it could have been a lot more manageable. The main issues were (a) Windward boats not keeping clear, and (b) Boats trying to start on port in the face of a hoard of starboard tackers.
Of course you must understand, I was completely innocent of any infractions. We had one arbitration hearing resulting from the chaos, and numerous exonerations…..of which you must understand, I was completely innocent of the need for exonerations.
We had 4 different boats with heat first places….of which you must understand, I was completely innocent of achieving, but all in all it was an interesting day, and the weather was excellent.
Ron Bedyn was RO assisted by Dayele Hobson and they managed the large fleet very well, and changed the course as they felt necessary. However, on a very sad note…..276 triumphed over 150, and so I am reduced to sackcloth and ashes in mourning.
