What a gorgeous day it was for sailing: sunshine, gentle breeze and excellent company. About half the fleet skippers turned up early enough to sit under the big tree and eat sandwiches while solving many of the world’s problems based on their excellent knowledge of global events and science.

Then the real racing began, with the RO and RA comfortably seated in the shade of the willow tree. The laptop was in dry dock, so all the results were recorded on the back of a bit of paper removed from the notice board, showing the innovative creativity of the team.

Your good secretary has carefully transcribed them and calculated the results, as a secretary should. Mental arithmetic was involved so he hopes he got it right. One drop race was allowed.

Congratulations to RO Darryl Sutton and RA Barry Bissell on getting 9 heats in on such light conditions.

Congratulations to Polly, Dayele and Colin for making the podium.
