Greetings members,

What a day yesterday was at L. Rua. When we arrived the breeze was about a 6 knot southerly, beautiful for sailing, but by the time we started it had dropped to 0 to 1 inch per hour. So from these results you can see our light weather experts for the second week in a row. It was nice to see our new members Mark and Murray sailing and it was nice to see our dogs George and Cindy getting on well together. I kept an eye on George’s tail, and as Nick said, it never stopped wagging all day.

Nick Richardson was RO, assisted by Tony Taylor and they set a 2 lap course and managed to successfully get written results NEATLY done for me to follow. Well done race committee.

I should mention that the road in was nicely graded and the potholes filled.

With the big fleet and light winds, there was more than usual protest hails etc, especially at marks, but no protests were lodged and especially pleasing was the friendlyish manner things were done.

There was quite a bit of humour yesterday, but after a night watching Olympics, I can’t remember any of it……..sorry.

Our champions were, Graham Parratt, Glen Church and Bruce Lang. They were consistent all day so congratulations.
