Greetings all,

Yesterdays racing was very pleasant and interesting, for several reasons. 1.We were sailing on Kaiapoi lakes. 2. The podium places came from a MF number of 0 or 120. 3. This is the most important scenario because as you will see in the results, 276 and 146 had electrical problems and 146 numerically precludes 276. So 146 being listed prior to 276 means that it triumphed over 276 in the placings order tsk, tsk, tsk.

Our race officer was Bruce Edgar and Graeme Raxworthy was assistant. I thought they did a great job of setting a course in winds that shifted all around the compass, and, presenting neatly written results at the end, plus managing all the other deviations like a swiftly floating mat of weed that sailed through the course.

The weather was perfect and the winds light to moderate which seemed to suit everyone and it was a Mark Foy start.

Now for the big news of the day. First on the podium was Anzan (MF 0), second was Tony Taylor (MF 0) and third was Polly (MF 120), so you can see the results were not skewed by course length. Everyone was pleased with Anzan’s win but none more so than herself, however it was close run thing against Tony with both having the same total points but after discards Anzan won be just 2 points. Well done Polly for coming through from 120 seconds behind.
