Greetings,

Yesterday defied the forecast of fierce gusty winds and produced a lovely sailing day, maybe a bit warm though. Again the behaviour was good which is of great joy to the club committee. Darryl Sutton was RO assisted by Polly and they did a very professional job giving us a mass start with 2 laps, the only flaw I noticed was Polly retrieving the marks without re-pumping up our punctured inflatable, and all the commiserations that he uttered forth about the great danger he was in of shipwreck. Maybe we should have all sung that hymn “Oh hear us when we cry to thee, for those in peril on the sea”. We did have an official protest lodged which our arbitrator Glen Church heard, I think it is great that sailors do these things according to the RRS.

Congratulations Cliff, Glen and Bryan for mounting the podium. Plus here is Nick’s cartoon I couldn’t download last week, thanks to Paul Campbell for supplying it that even I could copy.
