Greetings all,

Yesterday was an unusual day, it started off at 10am with Anzan, Ron Bedyn, Al Ross, Colin Freeman and myself helping with Anzan’s TRY SAILING session for her Chinese acquaintances. We had 6 boats which were kept busy until about 11.40am and approximately 15 trialists, men and women ranging from 4 till in their 5O’s. Some were really keen and I did not see one collision all morning, so we need to take a lesson from them. The wind was ideal for the session.

As for the race event later, the wind had dropped slightly to a beautiful oscillating nor easter and the sailors had a perfect days sailing. Our scheduled race officer had come down unwell so Ralph stepped in as RO assisted by Bob Auton and they did a great job, especially Bob’s comments to the sailors. The course was a 2 lap trapezoid and the start was A & B fleet starts, plus we had music all afternoon from the wine and food festival in the park…….what a crowd that generated. I have much pleasure in announcing that yet again our behaviour was exemplary.

Congratulations to the podium placegetters, Tom, Graeme and Graham.
