Closing Day 2025 started as it finished with Very VERY Little wind. Race Officer Polly Parratt with Race Assistant Paul Campbell (PC). Set a rectangle course trying only one lap. Which stayed that way with a Mass Start.

Only able to get 4 races / heats away in the scheduled time .We were spoiled with sun & blue sky’s . Tee shirts were even worn this time of the year unheard of. Briefing was entertaining with RO dressed up for the occasion also wearing a Captains hat. Rodney Ford brought to our attention in the past years . Closing Day was made due to the weed in the lake & unable to sail. Open Day was when Lake had been cleared & Opening Day was held & able to sail again.

We are Spoilt in the 21 st Century to have Opening Day next week. ( Clear Lake ) 2nd August at Lake Victoria with Lake Rua out of order at present. Line Honors. 4 wins to Commodore Ron V 007 well done. Mastering the light Zepher’s of wind.Also a good mention to Nick Richardson Results. 2,2,10,2.  2nd overall. ( Look out MF increase ? )

3rd Overall was shared on points BUT the smart computer sorts out the boats with the highest positions. Well done Murray Dean, Bryan Treleaven & Mike Inns. Plenty of great banter amongst competitors during & after drifting / sailing.    Also another BIG shout out to all club members helping with all things that make our Saturday enjoyable for all.  Polly
