Race Officers ROD LIDDY, VERN ROLTON, BOB TORRIE

The day welcomed 12 entrants to glorious sunshine which very quickly meant the removal of jerseys and jackets most had arrived in. However there was very little breeze and what there was, was changing sometimes during the sailing of the mornings heats 180degs from E, NE to approximately S. These changes resulted on occasion in the reversal of the windward/lieuward course to hopefully suit the start…. most times it worked.

We managed to complete 7 one lap heats prior to a 30 minute lunch break which personally I thought a very good effort by all. During the lunch break a more consistent NE/E arrived and we managed the remaining 5 laps (2 laps) to achieve the total of heats required of 12 by approximately 2pm.

The rain/hail arrived as all were leaving so we dodged a bullet in that respect. An interesting observation made was the large number of revolving spectators throughout the entire race who all were impressed with what they saw.

Thankyou to all involved, both competitors and officials in what turned out to be an enjoyable day of sailing.
