A beautiful autumn day with light winds and plenty of sunshine which made the race officials, (Glen and Nick), wonder why they had winter gear on.  It got quite warm sitting watching the entertainment.

After each heat the computer cleverly analysed the results and determined who would be in each fleet for the next heat(s) based on positions achieved .

Having an entry list of 20 competitors meant there were always 2 fleets of 7 and one fleet of 6.  It is always surprising to see tangles at the start  with only 6 or 7 on the start line.   The more experienced managed to avoid most incidents and it was good to see most miscreants taking their penalties without too much complaining.

The weather once again made for some challenging racing around the polygon course varying around a south westerly direction until finally it changed to a north easterly for the final 2 heats. I can’t think of any major incidents apart from Mike deciding  to try to do 2 laps in a 1 lap race.  It only cost him 1 place before he corrected, mumbling quietly to himself while doing so.

It was pleasing to get 7 heats in and the podium placers all deserved the plaudits  proffered by their competitors.  The biscuits were superb at the after race coffee break.  Glen Church  cJ276
