Today’s sailing at Victoria Lake consisted of a fine day with light to moderate north easterlies. We had the pleasant sound of the PolyFest drifting across to the lake. The down side was some of our key parking taken.

The officers of the day were Chris Greer and Ron Campbell. They set a course with a gate to the North and 2 marks at the southern end of the lake. Initially there were 2 laps on a mark foy but the race officers decided to feel sorry for our commodore and decided to change to 3 laps.

Unfortunately both sailors and race officers found it difficult to count 3. But the race officers were insistent. The only person to suffer was George with 327 who would have placed 1st twice because one race being abandoned.
There were some collisions which were generally vindicated. The results! Well done the Sumner boys Peter Bradley and Nick Richardson 1st and 2nd respectively and Peter Fisher 3rd. Special thanks to the impromptu beers from the author.

Great work by the Race Officers and good to welcome Alex Aitken (you should have joined us years ago. Glen Church it’s not like you tsk tsk).
