Greetings,

Before going any further, there are a couple of points to raise on these results. 1) J 327 was sailed by Roger Banfield not George as the results show. 2) We actually sailed a 7th heat, but the computer battery went flat and the boat battery support system went flat too, so the race committee recorded that heat on paper. It certainly made no difference to J 222’s result because he won that heat as well, it may have affected the 2nd and 3rd places but I am dropping that 7th heat from the results because of the difficulty in marrying up the results. I daresay if I did I am sure J 150 would be on the podium tsk, tsk.

The day turned out beautiful with a lovely breeze from the NE, our RO was Graeme Raxworthy and assisted by Jim Paterson, and as to be expected, these gents had everything under control professionally, even the cuppa afterwards. Our course was a 1 lapper to start, but they added an extra lap halfway through which gave opportunity to catch up if behind (and you are an optimist), or, on the other hand, it sank you further behind (if you are a realist). I am pleased to say that our behaviour stakes are still unsullied. By the way it was a mass start race so ignore those MF start numbers on the result sheet.

I must mention a trend that has been infiltrating of late. Several sailors have been turning up early and having lunch outside in the sun, with diverse discussion topics. Yesterday the theme was politics (of which Nick is well versed), and the moral decline in the world since our youth…….I don’t think sailing was hardly mentioned.
