Greetings members,

Yesterday, sailing was our first of the winter races at L. Rua. The weather was fine, the breeze lightish, the water crystal clear, but the venue, I thought, was marginal. During the summer, the park rangers were supposed to have cleared the excess vegetation, but it still doesn’t give clear vision while sailing. Consequently, everyone was jammed in the one clear spot, and successfully blocked each other’s view.

Russell Wenham was RO assisted by Barry Bissell, and they coped with the restricted conditions as well as possible. There were a lot of rules breaches of all sorts, but as far as I could make out, most were exonerated, and behaviour stayed positive.

Congratulations to the podium placers, Bruce Lang, Graham Parratt and Ron Bedyn, these coped best with the tricky conditions.
